Terms of Service

Version: 2026-09-24-draft

These Terms explain the rules for using Remembrall, what you pay for and how, and your rights as a consumer, including your right to withdraw from the contract.

1.Who these Terms are between

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a contract between you and [COMPANY NAME] AB, trading as Remembrall (“we”, “us”). We are a Swedish limited company (aktiebolag).

  • Organisation number: [ORG NUMBER]
  • VAT number: [SE VAT NUMBER]
  • Registered address: [STREET ADDRESS], [POSTCODE] [CITY], Sweden
  • Email: [SUPPORT EMAIL]

Full details are on our company information page. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

The Terms cover the Remembrall web app at https://remembrall.co and the Remembrall browser extension (together, “the service”). We offer the service to consumers, meaning people using it for their own personal purposes.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: Whether the Terms need to address use of the service by a business or on behalf of an organisation, given that we sell to consumers only.]

2.Your account and eligibility

You need an account to use Remembrall. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, our authentication provider.

  • To use the free service you must be at least 13 years old if you live in Sweden. The minimum age may be different where you live; see Children in our Privacy Policy.
  • To buy a paid plan (Pro or Ultra) you must be 18 or older, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
[To be drafted/approved by counsel: How and when the Terms are accepted (at sign-up for the free service, and again at checkout for a paid plan); keeping login details secure and responsibility for activity on the account; keeping account information accurate; minimum ages outside Sweden; and what happens if a minor buys a plan without permission.]

3.The service

Remembrall helps you remember what you read and watch. With it you can:

  • capture web pages, selected text, social posts and videos with the browser extension, or add notes and upload files in the web app;
  • get AI-generated summaries of what you capture, and study cards (multiple-choice questions, flashcards and open-ended questions) based on it;
  • organise captures into projects and decks; and
  • practise on a spaced-repetition schedule that tells you when each capture is due for review.

The browser extension is installed separately, from your browser’s extension store, and uses the same account.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: The service’s agreed features and quality for conformity purposes (konsumentköplagen ch. 9); availability, maintenance and support commitments; and what you need to use the service (supported browsers, an internet connection).]

4.AI features and their limits

Several features use artificial intelligence. We send the content you capture to Google’s Gemini API to:

  • write summaries of your captures;
  • generate study cards;
  • grade, and give feedback on, your answers to open-ended questions; and
  • find captures that are related to each other.

AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even when it sounds confident. Treat it as a study aid: check important facts against the original source, and don’t rely on it as professional advice.

AI features count towards your plan’s usage limits. They may sometimes be unavailable, for example when our AI provider is down or rate-limited, or when a piece of content can’t be processed.

How your content is processed by AI is explained in the Privacy Policy.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: Approval of the AI limitations wording above; how AI errors relate to our conformity obligations for a digital service; and whether any AI-specific transparency wording is required (for example under the EU AI Act).]

5.Plans and limits

We offer three plans:

  • Free, at no cost.
  • Pro, a monthly subscription that starts with a 14-day free trial (see Free trial of Pro).
  • Ultra, a monthly subscription with no free trial.

What each plan includes, and its usage limits (for example how many captures, decks and study cards you can have, and how much AI use you get each day), is shown in the pricing section of our website and on the Upgrade page in the app. Limits can change, but only as described in Changes to the service, plans and prices.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: How plan contents and limits become part of the contract (the pricing page, an annex, or listed here), and whether they are fixed at the time of purchase.]

6.Free trial of Pro

  • Pro comes with a free trial of 14 days. You can use it only once.
  • You need to add a payment card to start the trial. You are not charged during the trial.
  • When the trial ends, your Pro subscription starts automatically. You are charged the price shown at checkout, and then monthly, unless you cancel before the trial ends.
  • You can cancel during the trial at no cost, or withdraw from the contract at no cost (see Right of withdrawal).
[To be drafted/approved by counsel: Whether and when we remind you before the trial turns into a paid subscription; whether Pro access continues to the end of the trial after you cancel; and how “one trial per user” is described and enforced.]

7.Price and payment through Link

Prices

Prices are set in euro (EUR), US dollars (USD), British pounds (GBP) and Swedish kronor (SEK). Prices in EUR, GBP and SEK include VAT. If you pay in another currency, the price is converted at checkout. You pay the price shown at checkout.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: How taxes are shown for USD prices and for prices converted into other currencies.]

Who you pay: Link

Payments are handled by Stripe Managed Payments. Your purchase is “Sold through Link”: Link (Stripe) is the merchant of record and resells the subscription to you. This means:

  • Link charges your payment method and issues your receipts and invoices;
  • Link handles payment support, and can issue refunds; and
  • your card statement shows LINK.COM* REMEMBRALL.

These Terms govern your use of Remembrall. Link’s own terms govern the payment transaction.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: A link to Link’s customer terms and privacy notice; and how responsibility towards you is split between us and Link as merchant of record (for example for withdrawal, refunds, faults and complaints).]

8.Automatic renewal

Pro and Ultra are monthly subscriptions. They renew automatically at the end of each monthly period, and Link charges the payment method on file, until you cancel.

Each renewal is charged at the plan’s current price. We change prices only as described in Changes to the service, plans and prices, and we tell you before a new price applies to you.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: What happens if a renewal payment fails (retries, any grace period, and when paid features stop).]

9.Cancelling

You can cancel a paid plan at any time:

  • in the app, under Settings → Billing; or
  • from your Link account.

Cancelling stops future renewals. It takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep your paid features until then. You are not charged again.

Cancelling is not the same as withdrawing. If you are still within the 14-day withdrawal period and want money back for the days you haven’t used, withdraw instead (see Right of withdrawal).

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: What happens to your account and content after a paid plan ends, including content above the Free plan’s limits.]

10.Right of withdrawal

As a consumer you can withdraw from the contract within 14 days of making it, without giving a reason. The full rules, a worked example and the model withdrawal form are in our withdrawal and refund policy. In short:

  • The 14 days start when the contract is made. If you start with the Pro free trial, that is when the trial starts.
  • Withdrawing during the Pro free trial costs nothing.
  • If you start a paid plan straight away, you ask us at checkout to start the service immediately. If you then withdraw, we refund the days you have not used, pro rata, within 14 days, to your original payment method.
  • To withdraw, use the “Withdraw from contract here” function, email us at [SUPPORT EMAIL], or send us the model withdrawal form.
[To be drafted/approved by counsel: Which customers the right applies to (all customers, or only those in the EU/EEA and the UK); and approval of this summary.]

11.Upgrading and downgrading

  • Upgrading from Pro to Ultra takes effect straight away. You pay a pro-rata amount for the rest of your current period, which is shown on Stripe’s confirmation page before you confirm.
  • Downgrading (from Ultra to Pro, or from a paid plan to Free) takes effect at the end of your current period. You keep your current plan until then.
[To be drafted/approved by counsel: Whether an upgrade is a new contract with its own withdrawal right; and what happens to content above the lower plan’s limits after a downgrade.]

12.Changes to the service, plans and prices

We may need to change Remembrall over time. We will change the service, a plan’s contents or limits, or our prices only for a valid reason, and we will tell you in advance. If you don’t accept a change, you can end your subscription before it applies to you.

If we change these Terms, we will publish the new version on this page with a new version number.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: The list of valid reasons for changes; the advance-notice period and how notice is given (email, in-app); how the right to end the contract works and what is refunded; and how this clause meets the rules on modifying a digital service (Directive (EU) 2019/770, art. 19, as implemented in Swedish law). The same for changes to these Terms.]

13.If the service is faulty

If the service is faulty or doesn’t match what we promised, you have the rights that consumer law gives you, including under chapter 9 of the Swedish Consumer Sales Act (konsumentköplagen) on digital content and digital services. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits those rights.

To report a fault, email us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] and describe the problem.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: A plain-language summary of the statutory remedies (for example having the fault fixed, a price reduction, ending the contract, and damages), the time limits for complaining, and how long we are responsible for faults.]

14.Your content when the contract ends

Your content belongs to you (see Intellectual property and licence).

Deleting your account

If you delete your account:

  • any paid subscription stops renewing;
  • your app data (captures, projects, decks, study cards and study history) is deleted; and
  • unused paid time is not refunded.

We keep billing records for 7 years, as the Swedish Bookkeeping Act (bokföringslagen) requires, and for 10 years where the EU One-Stop-Shop (OSS) VAT rules apply. See how long we keep data.

If you are still within the 14-day withdrawal period, withdraw before you delete your account, so that the days you haven’t used can be refunded.

Getting a copy of your content

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: How you can export your content before and after the contract ends (format, self-service or on request, and for how long it stays available), as required for digital services when a contract ends (Directive (EU) 2019/770, art. 16); how to delete an account; and whether deleting an account during the withdrawal period should be treated as a withdrawal.]

15.Acceptable use and your content

You are responsible for what you capture, write and upload, and for using Remembrall lawfully.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: Acceptable-use rules (for example: no illegal content, no infringing other people’s rights, no malware, no attempts to access other accounts or to get around usage limits, no automated scraping or reselling of the service); and what we may do if the rules are broken (warning, removing content, suspending or closing the account), with a proportionate process and a way to appeal.]

Reporting illegal content

If you believe content stored on Remembrall is illegal, email us at [SUPPORT EMAIL]. Tell us where the content is, why you believe it is illegal, and your name and email address.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: Our obligations as a hosting service under the EU Digital Services Act (notice and action, statements of reasons, points of contact for users and authorities), and the final wording of this reporting route.]

16.Intellectual property and licence

You keep ownership of everything you capture, write and upload. You give us permission to store, copy and process that content, including sending it to our AI provider, only as far as needed to provide the service to you.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: The formal wording of the licence you give us (scope, duration, and when it ends); our intellectual property in the service and the licence we give you to use the web app and browser extension; your responsibility for third-party material you capture (such as copyrighted articles); and feedback you send us.]

17.Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability, or any of your rights, that cannot be limited or excluded under the consumer law that protects you.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: The liability clause: what we are and are not responsible for (for example AI output, loss of data, interruptions, third-party websites and services), within the limits of mandatory consumer law; and your liability for misuse of the service.]

18.Complaints and disputes

If you are unhappy with Remembrall, please contact us first at [SUPPORT EMAIL].

If we can’t resolve your complaint, you can take it to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN), which handles consumer complaints free of charge:

ARN, Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, Sweden · www.arn.se

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: Owner decision and wording: whether we commit to follow ARN’s recommendations. Also: whether to point consumers in other countries to the European Consumer Centres Network, and any time limit for taking a complaint to ARN.]

19.Governing law

These Terms are governed by Swedish law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: Which courts can hear disputes (under EU rules consumers can sue in the courts where they live), and wording for consumers outside the EU.]

20.Language

These Terms are written in English, and the contract is made in English.

[To be drafted/approved by counsel: A Swedish-language version, and which version applies if the two differ.]

21.How this contract is stored

These Terms are always available on this page, at https://remembrall.co/terms. The version shown at the top of the page identifies the exact text.

  • When you buy a plan, we record which version of the Terms you accepted.
  • You can print these Terms, or save them as a PDF, with the “Print or save as PDF” button at the top of this page or with your browser’s print function.
  • Link sends you the receipts and invoices for your payments.
[To be drafted/approved by counsel: How we send you the contract terms and an order confirmation on a durable medium after purchase (for example an email with the Terms attached or linked), as the Distance Contracts Act (distansavtalslagen) requires; and whether earlier versions of the Terms stay available to customers who accepted them.]
